Where Does Stoplight Circuit Get Sourced for Install of Hayes Brake Controller HA100400C
Question:
My Mirage tandem axle trailer brake lights work in conjunction with the turn signals, there is no separate wire for the brake lights. it is my understanding this is not an unusual configuration, but how best to wire this particular setup. Trailer does have electric brakes and we tow with a Spartan chassis RV that has air brakes.

Actually when you wire in the Hayes Brake Controller part # HA100400C you use the vehicle's wiring and not the trailer wiring. You would need to find a stop light circuit for the red wire of the controller.
Typically this is found at the brake pedal switch or in some case the wiring to the third brake light is used.
I attached a help article on brake controller installs for you to check out as well.
