5-Way Adapter Recommendation for 2010 Toyota Highlander with 4-Way
Question:
hi I have 2010 Toy Highlander. i currently have the 4 pole connector for my trailer but new boat trailer requires braking system and I was told that I need the connector with the 5 prongs for reverse lockout . Do you know what I need ?

The correct adapter you need is the part # 20036. This adapter will plug into the 4-way on your vehicle and will give you a 5-way to run to your reverse lights so that you can activate the reverse lock out solenoid.
The extra wire of the kit allows you to tap into the reverse light circuit to activate the fifth pin of the connector.
