Will Ultra Fab Stabilizer Jacks UFB39-941707 Fit on a Chapparral 29RLS 5th Wheel Trailer
Question:
I have a Chapparral 29RLS 5th wheel with a frame clearance of 18inch and distance between I-beams of 71inch outside edge dimension that came with manual scissor jacks for rear stabilizing. The jacks are mounted to a round plate that is welded to the frame. I would like to use the above referenced electric unit but am not sure if they will fit because of the welded plate. Would I need to remove the plate to install or can I move the new jacks forward till they fit. That would mean moving the new jack forward about 12-18. Would that still be okay? Thank you for your help!

Helpful Expert Reply:
If the plate on the trailer frame is only for the mounting of the current stabilizer jacks you certainly could remove it to install the Ultra-Fab Jacks part # UF39-941707. If it's part of the bracing of the chassis I would not recommend you have it removed. If you had to install the jacks slightly forward so that the 24 inch wide mounting bracket would fit that wouldn't be a problem either.
