Recommended Oil Cooler Kit with Sandwich Adapter for 2002 Ford F-250
Question:
Good morning Im looking for a sandwich oil adapter for a 02 f250 7.3. My overall plan is to install a auxiliary engine oil cooler and I need to know if the adapter was a good idea or if there is another possible set up I can use

I'd recommend the Derale Plate-Fin Engine Oil Cooler Kit with Spin-On Adapter, # D15451. This kit comes with everything you need to install this cooler. It has the heat exchanger, a spin-on remote adapter, hoses, rings, etc. The plate-fin cooler gives you strength and efficiency. This oil cooler comes with a remote mount oil filter adapter, not the sandwich adapter. This allows you to mount the oil filter wherever you desire. However, if you are looking specifically for a sandwich adapter with your oil cooler, I'd suggest the Derale Plate-Fin Engine Oil Cooler Kit with Adjustable Sandwich Adapter, # D15405. I personally recommend using the remote adapter to make the filter more convenient for oil changes.
If you want additional cooling or if you desire to have the cooler mounted inside the engine compartment versus on the outside of the radiator, then the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Engine Oil Cooler Kit with Fan, # D15450, will be the best option for that specific application. This kit will give you an in-line thermostat for power-saving fan shut-off. It can mount almost anywhere with its aluminum mounting brackets. It also uses the plate-fin cooler core for optimum heat transfer and minimum pressure drop.
