No Green Light on the Brake Controller When Connected to the Trailer
Question:
When connected to the trailer im getting a ground on the white wire and the black wire has power. Why wont the light on the controller on come? In your wire diagram black is a hot wire. What is the second hot wire for going to the back of the trailer receptacle? when connected to the trailer where does the power come from that turn on the green light on the controller? From what you're describing it sounds like you have the Voyager Brake Controller # 39510. The power for the green light comes from the black wire, however it is only engaged when the controller senses the load from the brake magnets on your trailer.
The black wire is the power wire to the brake controller and should always show power. The blue wire coming from the brake controller is the wire that will go back to your 7-way in the 5 O'clock position at the rear of your vehicle and is how the brake controller sends a signal to your trailer's brakes.
