Parts Needed to Equip 2007 Toyota Sienna for Towing Camper Trailer with Electric Brakes
Question:
I have a 2007 Sienna, with which I would like to tow my Pop-up camper. I intend to buy a proportional brake controller, as well as the ETBC7 Wiring Kit for the 7-Way socket. My question is: Do I need to connect the 12V lead 1 oclock pin at the socket? My trailer has no battery, nor a break-away switch.

We can help you get your 2007 Sienna ready for towing your pop-up camper trailer.
Starting with a proportional brake controller, I recommend the Prodigy P2 # 90885 for its easy set-up and proven reliability. It will slow the trailer right along with the decelerating Sienna for less of that tug-of-war feeling. For the same performance in a slightly nicer package you can instead select the P3 # 90195 which features a better display screen and more mounting options.
Installation will use our # ETBC7 controller install kit which includes the 7-way socket, wiring, fasteners and all parts you'll need to install the P2. The linked installation video shows the process in a 2005 Sienna. The 7-way will include a 12V feed for the trailer to keep your breakaway battery charged.
If the Sienna does not already have a 4-pole wiring harness you'll need one too. Use part # 118304 which is an easy plug-in install that requires no splicing or cutting of wires. The 7-way will plug right into the 4-pole and allow you to complete the other circuits.
For a breakaway kit you can use the Tekonsha # 50-85-313. This is required and the two linked articles will aid your installation.
