We have a couple of trailer hitches that are designed to fit your 1998 Suburban.

I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch, part # C13029. This is a class lll hitch and it also has a 2-inch receiver opening.

We also have the Class lV Curt hitch, part # C14029. This hitch has a higher towing capacity and tongue weight capacity but since you said it is a small trailer it may be overkill. This trailer hitch has a 2-inch receiver opening.

I recommend these two hitches because no drilling is required for installation. It does state that access holes may need to be enlarged by filing or using a rotary tool, or by drilling if you prefer.

Since you plan on towing I recommend the etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.

If the ball mount kit does not include a ball mount with the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, check out the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.

For trailer wiring I recommend part # C55319. When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
