5th Wheel Trailer Hitch and Install Kit for 2015 Ram 2500 Short Bed and Trailer w/Revolution Pin Box

Question:

What kit is recommended for 2015 Ram 2500HD 6foot box no factory rails with 5th wheel camper with Revolution pin box? Or better to install slider for max options?

Since the 5th wheel trailer has a Revolution pin box you will not need to spend the extra money on a slider hitch for your 2015 Ram 2500 short bed. The Revolution will move the pivot point of the trailer back far enough to where a slider is not required. You could install a slider hitch but it would have to stay locked in the towing position at all times.

For an installation kit you have options for either custom or semi-custom kits. I strongly recommend a custom kit such as # C16427-204 so you won't have to drill into the truck frame for installation. I have included a link to a video showing an example installation.

For a compatible hitch I recommend the Curt A20 # C16140. This hitch is rated for 20,000 pounds and has a cushioned head for better ride quality. I have linked a video review of the hitch for you as well.

The Revolution may have the universal wedge (to lock out the pivot at the hitch) but a custom wedge, # C16992 for the Curt hitch, will be a better fit.
