Which Axle to Use Tire Cables for a Subaru Outback 2017
Question:
In the instructions I got says to use the cables on rear tire for AWD, but in the owners manual it says to use the cables on the front tires confused NOW !! Thank You

When it comes to tire chain fit requirements for a vehicle the vehicles owners manual will always be the final authority. Typically with AWD vehicles the recommendation is to put the chains on the vehicle's primary drive wheels. It's commonly the rear axle but if your vehicle uses the front axle then that would be the correct axle to use.
