Expert Reply:
The difference in Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2299 and Firestone Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs # F2701 is in capacity, not in design as you pointed out. The # F2299 air springs have a 5,000 lbs capacity with a double convoluted 4 ply design. The air can be adjusted between 5 psi and 100 psi. The extreme duty air springs have a 7,500 lbs capacity and also have the 4 ply double convoluted design but the air adjustment can be from 5 psi to 150 psi. The extreme duty springs are designed to allow for a greater relief to your factory suspension under the weight of the load. The installation and operation will be nearly identical.
For the air lines, I recommend using a tubing Cutter, # AL10530. Other cutting methods could crimp or distort the tubing and create a possible air leak. This will ensure a straight cut and prevent air leaks. You may also want to get a compressor like the Firestone Air Command II, # F2168.
Installing these products will not increase the carrying capacity of your vehicle, it will only take the brunt of the load off your factory suspension. For your rear axle capacity, look for the GAWR (gross axle weight rating) for your rear axle (sometimes labeled RR) that is on the sticker of your driver side front door. It unfortunately is not listed in your owners manual. Based on that capacity it may or may not help to go with the larger Ride-Rite Red Label system.
