Can a 2008 Toyota Prius be Flat Towed
Question:
Hello, Can this module be used for controlling the tail lights on a 2008 Prius towed behind a Motor Home? Essentially I want the towed Prius with a tow-dolly to repeat the signaling from the RV stop lights, turn indicator lights and parking lights by adding some wiring on the Prius side without cutting any of the OEM electrical connections to the tail lights. If it is not possible, could you recommend a wiring kit to realize this connectivity? Thank you in advance for the technical support. Sincerely,

Helpful Expert Reply:
To tow your Prius, I recommend using the Roadmaster Tow Dolly, part # RM-2050-1. This dolly comes with tail lights, wheel nets and electric brakes, so you should not need to purchase any additional equipment to tow your vehicle. I do recommend checking your owners manual for any specific towing procedures or restrictions before making any purchases.
The trailer wiring harnesses cannot be used in reverse as a tow bar lighting solution. I wish we had a tow bar lighting solution for your vehicle but nobody has anything flat towing related available for a Prius. You are going to have to look into a tow dolly most likely.
