Brake Mounting Flange Recommendation for Fitting a 1-3/4 inch Diameter Axle  

Question:

I have triple axle boat trailer that has no barkes on any axle the mounting flanges have rotted off,I would like to put disc brakes on trying to figure out the correct mounting flange to weld on ,the round axle measures 13/4inch where the old one was,and I have 14inch tires any help will be appreciated thanks

For a brake mounting flange that fits a 1-3/4 inch diameter axle the part # 4-34 is exactly that. As long as the rest of the axle looks fine and isn't rusting as well this would be exactly what you need.

The brake mounting flange needs to be welded on perfectly square and concentric and if it is off just a little bit, this can lead to all kinds of problems with trailer ride, stability, tire, and suspension wear. We strongly recommend that brake flanges be welded on by a professional shop that routinely works on trailers and has the equipment required to weld the flange to the spindle.
