Recommended Brake Controller and Wiring Harness on 2016 Toyota Tacoma
Question:
Do you offer a harness adapter to connect a brake controller to a 2016 Tacoma?

Expert Reply:
If your 2016 Toyota Tacoma has the factory trailer connector, many of our brake controllers, such as the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885, will have a vehicle specific wiring adapter that will plug right in to your truck. To install the Prodigy P2, you can use the Tekonsha plug-in wiring adapter # 3031-P.
If your Tacoma did not come with the factory connector, you will need to add a 4-way connector at the back of your truck by installing # C56349. This harness plugs in behind your tail lights and the hot lead connecting to your truck's battery.
Once you have the 4-way installed, next you will need # ETBC7 for the wiring to install the brake controller and 7-way vehicle side connector.
