Custom Fit Curt Rails and Hitches for a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado Short Bed 2500 HD Series
Question:
I figure that the following will work: Custom bracket: 16418 by curt Rails: 16104 by curt. Am I correct in this for a 2005...Also I would like to seal the frame since rust is making an in road...any suggestions.

The Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Bracket Kit # C16418 and Universal Fifth Wheel Base Rails # C16104 will fit your 2005 6-1/2 foot bed Chevy. Please check out the attached installation video.
I would also recommend one of the following Curt hitches depending on your weight capacity needs.
Curt 16K Fifth Wheel # C16521
Curt 20K Fifth Wheel # C16541
Since you're starting to see signs of rust, I would remove as much rust as possible from your vehicle's frame and then cover it with a quality rust prevention spray paint.
