Fifth Wheel Hitch and Rail Kit Recommendation for 2016 Ram 3500

Question:

I am buying a 2017 Reflection 26RL1 with an extended pin box no. LiPP-1620. I bought the truck without the 5th wheel prep. What do you recommend? I want to be able to remove the fifth wheel hitch with some ease by myself. Been looking at BandW companion hitch. Will it work with the extended pin box? Or work with the Reese sidewinder? Thanks

The B and W Companion hitch setup would work great with an extended Lippert pin box box.

For your 2016 Ram 3500 short bed you would need the rail kit/gooseneck hitch part # BWGNRK1314-5W to install the slider hitch. For the hitch you would want the Companion Slider part # BWRVK3500-5W. This hitch is pretty heavy but it can be disassembled to make the install and removal easier. The Companion setup is a favorite among the RV community so I would work well for you.
