Is the Andersen Ultimate 5th Wheel Connection # AM3225 Easy to Install and Use on 2004 Ford F-350
Question:
Sir, I purchased our first 5th wheel toy hauler and own a 2004 F-350 long bed. Will the AM 3225 adapter fit/work for the gooseneck ball already in place in the bed of the truck. Do safety chains come with the system? We have never owned any type of trailer period! We are picking the rig up in another state and I would like to buy the product and taken it with me when I go to pick up the rig this looks like an easy system to use as well as install. What do you think? Thanks for your time concerning this matter.

Yes, the Andersen Ranch Hitch # AM3100 will work with the gooseneck ball/hitch already installed in your 2004 Ford F-350. The Anderson adapter clamps to any 2-5/16 inch gooseneck ball no matter what brand it is. I have linked a video review for you.
Safety chains are not included but Andersen recommends adding kit # AM3109 to use safety cables with the adapter.
It is an easy system to install and use. I would say, though, that eventually using a 5th wheel hitch will be the way to go. For any type of trailer the best hitch to use is the one the trailer was designed for. There are a couple of ways to accomplish this. Since you already have a gooseneck hitch there may be an adapter that will allow you to use a regular 5th wheel hitch. I would just need to confirm which gooseneck hitch is in the truck bed.
Otherwise the gooseneck hitch would have to come out and a 5th wheel install kit and hitch put in it's place.
