Replacement Coupler When Changing from Surge Brakes to Electric Brakes
Question:
Hello replacing both 3500lb axles complete with new axles on a car trailer.Might buy new with electric brakes.Have a so called Bulldog or Ram coupler on trailer.Do I have to change this coupler,now that No hydraulics are hooked up.Thanks

It is recommended that you replace the coupler. If you choose not to replace it with a standard coupler you will need to lock the surge coupler, if it can be locked, and if not then you'll have to modify it in such a way to keep the actuator from moving.
