Stability and Bounce Control on a Lightweight Fiberglass Camper
Question:
Been looking at the Fastway 92-00-0450 WDHs. I have a light weight FGRV with a 3500LB axle, so I dont load over that. Im actually buying a WDH mostly to reduce bounce. Thanks

A weight distribution system will help with stability and control. The system you are looking at, Fastway e2 # FA92-00-0450, is a good option for helping with this.
Weight distribution systems are based on two weight measurements, gross total weight which you mentioned and total tongue weight. The total tongue weight includes your trailer tongue weight and any cargo weight behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. Too large a system will add more of a rigid ride for your trailer which could actually increase bounce versus reduce it.
I would definitely recommend you go with the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution with 2-Point Sway Control, # FA92-00-0450. I contacted the manufacturer and they confirmed this would be a good choice for your application to reduce sway and bounce. They also mentioned that when loading your trailer, you should make sure the majority of your cargo weight is in front of the trailer's axle. That will help with reducing bounce and allow the system to distribute the weight for a smooth ride.
You will also need a hitch ball like # 40038.
