Fifth Wheel Rail Kit Recommendation for 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500

Question:

I have a 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 6 1/2 foot bed. The fit chart for RP50064-58 Reese custom rail for fifth wheel hitch lists my vehicle. My frame does not have any predrilled holes in it. With this in mind, is there any advantage in purchasing the custom rail kit over the universal kit RP30035?

Custom install rail kits are the way to go. They install in less than half the time and minimize drilling. The only advantage to the universal kit is that it costs less. But the headache the custom fit rail kits allow you to avoid is worth the money. The part # RP50064-58 would be the way to go and it is a confirmed fit for your 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500.

Since you have a short bed truck you will need a slider hitch. The most popular option is the part # C95DR.
