Fit & Compatibility of Trailer Hitch for 1996 Ford F-450 Superduty Cab and Chassis w/34 Inch Frame
Question:
96 f450 superduty cab and chassis 34inch frame. Is there any class 5 hitch that would be an easier install, or is this it?

Regardless of the trailer hitch you will most likely need to drill some holes.
In addition to the # 41947 you were looking at, my contact at Curt and he told me that the Curt Hitch part # C15445 would work for your 1996 Ford F450 Cab and Chassis Super Duty. This model will not require you to bolt the wings to the hitch, they have already been welded on. The advantage to the adjustable Draw-Tite hitch is it allows for better bumper clearance.
I have linked both above mentioned products and their installation instructions to this page for your convenience.
