7-Way and Brake Controller Recommendation for 2015 Ford Explorer

Question:

Just purchased this vehicle. It has the anti trailer sway option in the information center of the dash does this mean if i got the 7 pin harness that all of the functions would work? How do you tell what options will be in the factory side of the harness.

For your 2015 Ford Explorer the Tekonsha 7-Way Kit part # 118272 is a confirmed fit that would work well. Your vehicle would already have all of the necessary connections made to allow this to basically plug right in and be ready to use. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.

If you wanted to test the pins of your connector on your truck you could do so with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993. All of the turn signal and trailer wiring functions would be active aside from trailer brakes unless you install a brake controller.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes.

To install the controller you would only need the part # 3035-P.
