How Do I Access the Internals of the Lend-a-Hand Folding Grab Handle, part # AM-300
Question:
Our Lend a Hand door rail will lock into position to assist you entering the camper, but when you want to fold it to either side to get it out of the way it will not seat down to lock in a folded position. How do we take the covers off to look at it or to see what is keeping it from locking down?

I went out and pulled a Lend-a-Hand Folding Grab Handle For RVs, part # AM-300, from our warehouse. I took it out of the packaging and found that the only way you can access the internal pieces is to have the # AM-300 removed from your RV.
The backside of the mounting bracket is open and you can easily access the internals of the handle once it is removed from your RV.
While I was inspecting the # AM-300 I came to the conclusion that the most likely reason your handle would not lock into the folded position would be that one of your handles was not installed square in relation to the other bracket. Possibly one of the brackets is at a different angle than the other and it causes the mechanism inside the handle to bind up and not function appropriately.
