We have not had anyone complain about not being able to keep the spare tire on when installing Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 41947 and it is also not specified in the instructions, linked for reference. So if your 1986 Chevy K30 has a stock spare size and not a larger aftermarket size then it will stay in place under the truck.

I also recommend ball mount kit # EBMK2416 which includes a ball mount with a 3 inch rise or 4 inch drop, 2 balls, a hitch pin and clip, and a storage bag.

For trailer wiring you can use #HM41115 to add a 4-Way flat connector to the rear of the vehicle.
