We can help you with new landing gear for your 5th wheel.

Since it sounds like a 'bad thing' happened to your 5th wheel's landing gear I will suggest you start fresh with an entire new system to ensure that all the components - motor, gearbox, lead leg, cross-shaft and follow leg - are all in safe operating condition. By the way, Lippert part 142178 refers to a 12V motor assembly which we carry, part # LG-142178. If you prefer you can use the linked page to see replacement parts.

The Stromberg Carlson Electric Landing Gear Set # LG-1 which you referenced is a great choice for new landing gear. It includes everything - 2 jacks, gearbox, motor, switch, footplates, cross shaft, hand crank and hardware.

This system and its parts were designed to be compatible with most of the other fifth-wheel landing gear on the market, including Atwood and Lippert. If you're replacing your old landing gear, you can install this set from Stromberg Carlson using your existing mounting hardware.
