Recommended Time-Delay Brake Controller for 2016 Toyota Tacoma
Question:
Need a recommendation for a digital trailer brake controller. Not a pendulum type. Got to be small as mounting area is limited on my 2016 Toyota Tacoma SR5. Only need two axle 4 brakes. Any mounting tips would be appreciated. Thanks

For cases where mounting space for a brake controller is limited, the time-delay type is often preferred. Unlike accelerometer-based proportional controllers like the popular P2 # 90885, time-delay units offer more mounting flexibility since they do not have to be as carefully oriented.
I suggest the Tekonsha PowerTrac Electronic Brake Controller # 39523 along with plug-in wiring adapter # 3031-P if your Tacoma has the factory 7-way trailer socket at the rear bumper.
If it does not have a factory 7-way you'll instead use the controller and pigtail harness # 20127. In this case you'll also need a 4-pole # C56349 and our brake controller install kit # ETBC7. Installation videos are provided for the 4-pole and ETBC7 kits.
