Recommended 4-Way And 7-Way Trailer Connector For 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee With 4-Way
Question:
Im installing the 118425 wiring kit into my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Do you sell a Socket and mounting bracket similar to the HM40975 that will take the flat 4 pole into the back and give me the 7pole and 4 pole connection options for the trailer? If not can you make a recommendation? Thanks

We have exactly what you are looking for.
I recommend the Hopkins Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole, part # 37185. This plugs into the 4-way at the back of your Jeep and gives you a 4-way and 7-way. Depending on what you intend to use in the 7-way the other wires will need to be attached. The 4 wire functions are white for ground, blue for a brake controller if needed, black is the hot lead and used for a 12V power supply, and purple is an auxiliary. If any of these functions are not needed then you can just cap the wire and put it out of the way.
I like the # 37185 because the 4-way and the 7-way can be used at the same time. The doors on the # HM40975 restrict you from opening both doors at the same time.
If you are installing a brake controller you may want to consider part # ETBC7. This kit comes with the 37185 and the other hardware needed to complete the wiring for installation of a brake controller.
