Recommended Bike Carrier For Hitch On Class C Motorhome

Question:

Looking at hitches for a smaller class C motor home with a 2inch hitch and shared with me SUV. I see the Thule T2 and Yakima holdup2 racks are not listed as options for the RV but are for the SUV- is this just a warranty issue or is there a reason I should not consider these with an RV.

The bike carriers that are rated for RVs are built more rugged and able to withstand the additional shaking and jarring that you do not get with a typical passenger vehicle. If a manufacturer does not have a carrier approved for RVs then the warranty would be void.

We have a nice platform-style bike carrier that is rated for RV use. I recommend the Swagman Dispatch, part # S44FR. This carrier features rubberized hooks to hold the bikes securely and sliding wheel cradles that adjust for wheelbase up to 52 inches. This carrier has a weight capacity of 45-lbs per bike and has a shank rise of 6-1/4 inches for additional ground clearance.
