Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2016 Subaru Forester that Allow Thule T2 to Fold Up
Question:
Hello, I am considering putting a 2inch Draw-Tite hitch receiver 75876 on my 2016 Subaru Forester base model to mount a Thule T2 Classic bike rack TH9044. Can you confirm that this combination is compatible? In particular, Im worried about the clearance between the hitch pin hole and bumper. Thules information says this must be 4.5inch or less. Im also concerned about interference between wide handlebars e.g., all-mountain or downhill bikes and the back of the car itself, both in the tilted and normal positions for the rack. Thank you in advance!

If you want a hitch for your 2016 Subaru Forester that will allow the Thule T2 Pro XTR bike rack part # TH83JV to fold up you would want the Curt hitch part # C13144 as it does have the needed clearance to the bumper for the T2 to fold up. It has 3 inches from it's pin hole to the bumper edge and the Draw Tite # 75876 has 5 inches.
