Solution for Reducing Wind Noise with Thule Single Crossbar Roof Rack on a 2005 Chevy Silverado
Question:
I bought and installed a 4802 system on my 2005 crew cab chev Silverado. Took it on the Hwy today and it has air blowing noise so bad you cant hear the radio. What have I done wrong? Its mounted at the back end of the front door. Cheers

Roof racks like the single roof rack system you installed on your 2005 Chevy Silverado like the part # TH75222479002 (x2), # THKIT1522 and discontinued crossbar do create a bit of wind noise. Especially if the bars are square and not aero shaped.
There is a solution for this though that we can provide. A fairing like the part # TH82WV will direct the air over the bar and will drastically reduce the wind noise.
