Bike Rack Recommendation for 2015 Toyota Prius V for Carrying Bike With Step Through Frame

Question:

In my original question, I said that I do NOT want to have to use an adaptor bar for a step through frame. However, the swagman that you referenced, Swagman XTC2 part # S64670, looks like you would need to use an adaptor. The rack Im presently leaning toward is the Saris Freedom 2 Bike Platform Rack, Thoughts?

The Swagman XTC2 part # S64670 that you referenced would be a great option for you. This is one of our best selling racks and it works great on the Toyota Prius like yours.

The wheel straps really don't do much as the hook of the rack is what really secures the bikes to it. I attached a review video for this rack for you to check out as well on a Prius like yours.

Curt requires the use of their stabilizer strap part # 18050 when using their hitch to carry a non-supported load like a bike rack. I attached a review video for you to check for the strap as well.

The Saris Freedom # SA4412B could work well on your bike that does not have a horizontal top tube and also avoids having to use an adapter bar like you mentioned. However, since your hitch is a Class I, it will only allow for up to 35 pounds per bike. I attached a review video that shows this rack demoed on a 2014 Prius as well.
