Will Curt E16 5th Wheel Hitch and Universal Install Kit Fit a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 Short Bed
Question:
Will this kit work on a 97 dodge RAM 1500 4x4 6.5foot bed. And do you have the wiring extension for bumper to 5th wheel connection.

Expert Reply:
Curt 5th wheel hitch and universal installation kit # C16116 will fit your 1997 Dodge Ram. But since you have a short bed I recommend the slider version, # C16616, so you will have more clearance when making turns while towing.
If your truck has the factory 7-Way connector at the bumper you can add an in-bed harness # C56071, that will plug in line with the factory 7-Way. This allows you to have 2 functioning 7-Ways without the need of an extension. If you want to use an extension though it is # C56080.
