Is Reese Signature Series Hitch Adapter Kit Needed for a 2015 Ford Super Duty with Factory Pucks
Question:
Have a 18k signature series that was used in a 2002 with Reese under bed mount. Just put the slider in a 2015 with prep pkg,. Back ped in fine but front was tight going in. I didnt see anywhere that the hitch was hitting the bed. Almost seemed like the factory mount is a tad longer than 13. Dont see the reason for the Elite adapter kit as Ive read here. Can you plz clarify? Thanks

If your Reese Signature Series 5th wheel trailer hitch is fitting fine in your 2015 Ford Super Duty then you would not need to use the adapter kit # RP58419. The early factory prep packages on the 2011s and 2012s seem to require it more so than the newer trucks with the factory prep package. If the hitch is fitting like it is supposed to then the kit is not required.
But if you wanted to err on the side of caution you can use the kit but on the slider versions of the hitch you would use the original handles and not the ones in the kit.
