If your 2006 Honda Ridgeline did not come with the factory tow package, the connector for the # 3070-P brake controller wiring harness will not be located under the dash, and you will have to hard wire the vehicle for a brake controller. The Brake Controller 7- & 4-Way Installation Kit, item # ETBC7, will be needed, along with the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, item # 118400, to complete the trailer wiring and provide a 7-Way and 4-Way connector at the rear of your vehicle. We have detailed instructions for installation of this kit online, see the link provided.

To the best of my knowledge, the Honda uses black wire with a white tracer for the stoplight switch wire. I have also heard of some Honda vehicles that use a white wire with a black tracer. The only sure way to get the correct stoplight switch wire will be to use a circuit tester, item # PTW2993 if needed and check the wires from the brake pedal switch until you find the wire that has power only when the brake pedal is pressed. Manufacturers change wire colors often and with no warning.

Once you have located the stoplight switch circuit the rest of the wiring is straight forward, and the instructions will walk you right through all of the steps to complete the installation.
