Supporting the Sides of an Aspen Popup Camper After Lifting it for More Ground Clearance

Question:

I just purchased an Aspen Pop up camping trailer. It was designed to be lightweight and easily pulled by a motorcycle, but I am towing behind my jeep. I believe I have figured out how to lift the trailer for more body clearance so that it doesnt damage the camper body when we take it off-road, but what do I do about the additional height and supporting the sides when setting up the camper? If I lift it 4inch and put bigger tires on it, the supports under each bunk will no longer reach the ground.

What I recommend is to use leveling blocks such as # CAM44521 to compensate for the increased height of the camper. This set of blocks has 10 blocks and each is 17 inches long and 8-1/2 inches wide. Each block is 1-1/2 inches thick. I have included a link to a video review of these blocks for you.

We also have kits for raising the height of the trailer. You may be able to use an over/under conversion kit if:

The trailer leaf spring stack is currently mounted under the axles
The trailer uses double-eye springs
And the trailer has 2-3/8 inch or 3 inch diameter round axles

For a 2-3/8 inch round axle use # K71-384-00 and for a 3 inch diameter axle use # K71-385-00.

If you cannot use an over/under conversion kit then the only other way to raise the height of the trailer is to have the old suspension hangers cut off and new, taller ones welded on by a qualified professional welder. I have included a link to the hanger main page for you.
