Purpose of Grommet on Replacement Tow Package Wiring Harness Part # 118258 on 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe

where does the grommet at the end of the black flex cable protector get attached. I have 2010 hyundai santa fe limited with connectors on drivers side rear

When the factory connectors and existing grommet is pushed from the underside of the vehicle up into the interior of the vehicle as outlined in step # 6 of the instructions, the converter and wiring harness is plugged into the factory connector on the inside of the vehicle.
The existing grommet will now be on the wrong side of the converter box, and cannot be slid over it, which is why the new one is provided with the wiring harness. I would recommend leaving the old grommet in place, in case the wiring harness is ever removed.
I had to examine the instructions several times before I realized this, it is not spelled out very well.
