The plug and play wiring harness I recommend for your 2014 Durango Limited is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118617.
This harness connects to the wiring behind the tail lights and requires no splicing into the vehicle wires. You then run a hot lead wire from the harness to the positive battery post. Last, you secure the white ground wire on the harness to a metal surface and you are good to go.
When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
I also recommend securing the 4-way trailer connector with a mounting bracket like part # 18144. This keeps the connector secure to help prevent damage.
