Exhaust Lowering, Fascia/Heat Shield Trimming Needed for Trailer Hitch Installation, 2006 VW Passat
Question:
Hi, is drilling needed. What about additional work? See that the other trailer hitches do require additional work. Want something simple..no drilling, trimming, lowering exhaust, etc. Anywhere I can browse the instructions?. Thanks

Instruction links are available on the product pages for those products we have them for. Look on the right had side of the page for a link to a PDF document containing the instructions. Usually, if any drilling, trimming, or other modification is required, we will state it when you search for your year, make, and model vehicle using our fit guide.
All of the available trailer hitches for a 2006 Volkswagen Passat require drilling, minor fascia trimming, heat shield trimming, and or exhaust lowering for installation.
The Curt Trailer Hitch, # C11091, requires drilling, minor fascia trimming and heat shield trimming or modification. I have included links to the installation details for all of these hitches below. Heat shield trimming can be achieved using aviator shears. Trimming the fascia is best done using a rotary tool.
