Availability of 2-Inch Hitch Bike Racks that Swing Away for Better Vehicle Access

Question:

I have checked out many of the hitch bike racks on etrailer and notice a few with a Chevy express very helpful. Most show that the rear door can not be opened with bikes loaded. Has etrailer found a solution for a hitch mount bike rack that allows the rear doors to open while bikes are loaded? I prefer but not mandatory a tray style rack, and the van have a curt 2inch receiver. thanks for your help.

Of all the 2-inch hitch bike racks we offer the ones that are best in cases where you need to keep access to the rear of the vehicle are the swing away types. I linked our main page for all swing-away type bike racks that fit your 2-inch hitch.

Yakima's FullSwing 4-Bike Rack # Y02465 will fit your 2-inch Curt hitch # 13040 and even when it is loaded to its 4-bike capacity it can be swung away from the rear of the vehicle (to the passenger side, of course) for easier access to your van interior. In the case of your Express Van you may not be able to fully open both doors; this will depend on the type and sizes of your bikes. Please see the linked video showing this rack in use on a Suburban.

We do not offer any tray or platform style racks that can swing away from the back of your van, only the hanging style racks like the units shown.
