Comparison Between Reese Strail-Line And Equal-I-zer Weight Distribution Systems With Sway Control

Question:

I wanna know which would be the better of the 2 for preventing trailer sway the Reese RP66084 or the EQ37120ET, my trailer tongue weight is approx. 900 lbs the travel trailer weighs 7,727 lbs GVWR and I pull with a 2014 Ford F150 4x4 super crew cab with a 2.55 rear end 5.0 engine, I am open for any other suggestions for eliminating sway. I am not set on either of the hitches, just wanting the best hitch for my application. thank you for your help.

There are a couple things to note between the Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System, part # RP66084 and the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System, part # EQ37120ET. They are both great weight distribution systems with similar capacities.

The Equal-I-zer system is a little simpler to use and set up but it is a little noisier than the Strait-Line system. Both have sway control that works similarly and do a great job stopping sway when in high winds and passing large trucks on the highway.

The Equal-I-zer system comes with the hitch ball included where the Strait-Line system does not and a hitch ball with a 1-1/4 inch shank like part # A-90 for a 2-inch ball or part # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch ball will be needed.

If you are towing more than one trailer and it has a similar tongue weight then I recommend going with the Equal-I-zer system because it is easier to set up. If you tow one trailer and want less noise then the Strait-Line system would be the way to go.
