The Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 is a great brake controller for your 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. This is a top selling item because of how easy it is to use and how easy it is to install. The P2 is a proportional brake controller, meaning it will activate your trailer's brakes whenever you press on the brake pedal of your Jeep with no delay.
You will need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way and 4-Way Flat # ETBC7 to go from your 4-way to a 7-way.
I've included an installation video on a 2012 Wrangler Unlimited that will be very similar to yours.
