Would Fifth Wheel Rails from a 2011 GMC Sierra 2500 Fit a 2016 Sierra 2500

Question:

I just purchased a new 2016 gmc 2500 hd. I have the rails and hardware from my previous truck a 2011 gmc 2500. Will I be able to use these parts and if not what will I need? I have a Reese16K hitch.

The same fifth wheel rails from a 2011 GMC 2500HD like part # RP56001-53 would fit a 2016 GMC 2500 like yours so your rails and brackets would carry over and fit your new truck.

If this is the kit you have you should note that the hardware for the rails to the brackets is considered one time use so you would need to replace the hardware with part # RP56001F.

If instead you have the inboard style rail kits with the smaller rails the hardware kit you would need is the part # RP58430. Basically if your fifth wheel rail brackets install on the outside of the frame you need the part # RP56001F. If on the inside part # RP58430.
