Expert Reply:
For a 2005 Ford F-350 Power Stroke, the correct brake controller wiring harness adapter for Tekonsha brake controllers is the Tekonsha Wire Replacement, # 3065-P.
For Draw-Tite brake controllers, you would use # 3065-S. And for Hopkins you would need # HM47735.
On the 2005 Ford F-350 Super Duty, the available brake controllers come with the specific wiring harness required to connect it to the port on the truck in the storage pocket, just above the ashtray and toward the center of the dashboard.
If your truck came with a factory 4-Way and not a 7-Way, you can add a 7-Way using Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole and 4 Pole, # 37185. I have included a link to a video showing installation of this connector on a similar vehicle. I have also included a link to all of the available brake controllers for your truck and an FAQ that explains how to access the Ford brake controller port.
