You may want to reconsider using tow bar # 63180. This tow bar is only rated for 45 miles per hour maximum. It is fine for short distances at load speed but not for highway use or vacationing. If you still want to use this tow bar then you will also need an adapter, # RM-025, to go from it to base plates # RM-521448-4. Quick-Disconnects # RM-201 will also be needed in order for the base plate arms to be removable.

If you want to use a tow bar that doesn't have all the restrictions that 63180 has I recommend the same base plates listed above, # RM-521448-4, and the Tracker tow bar # RM-020. You can also use the Quick-Disconnects # RM-201 to make the base plate arms easily removable.

For either tow bar set up you will also need safety cables # RM-643. The coiled design helps keep the cables off of the ground. For lighting you can use the 4 diode kit # RM-154. I have linked a video showing an example installation on a similar Jeep.

You may also need a high/low adapter to keep the tow bar level. I have linked a help article showing how to measure and a link to the high/low adapters we carry.

And finally, most states now require supplemental braking on the vehicle being flat towed. One of the preferred systems for our installers and what I recommend is the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO proportional system, # SM99251. It will apply the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.

Be sure to consult your vehicle owners manual for specific information on flat towing the vehicle. I have also included some helpful links to our series of help articles on flat towing for you.
