I currently have a Reese 15K and am looking at getting a Reese 20K is the space for the rails the same.

As long as your current rails are the industry standard above-bed base rails then there is no reason they won't be the same. I've attached a picture that shows the measurements of the industry standard rails. With a Reese hitch they most likely are.
A great 20k fifth wheel hitch for your 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 is the Reese # RP30928. It has a single-jaw design, and 4-way pivoting head.
