What Size Spare Tire Will Fit With Curt Hitch on 2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty
Question:
2011 f250. What does it mean if spare tire is less than 20 inches? Obviously any tire other than a mini-spare is going to have an external diameter greater than 20 inches. The size of the tire as written on the tire is an 18. It is pretty tight even with the stock ford hitch. Is this going to fit? Thanks.

I contacted our representative at Curt and he informed me that the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 14041, will not fit vehicles with a 20 inch wheel spare. So if the vehicle has a 20 inch tire, for example 245/55/20, it will not fit that vehicle. The 20 inches is referring to the diameter of the wheel, since the wheel is 20 inches in diameter and will require a tire with a larger diameter than tires for smaller wheels.
Since you have an 18 inch wheel and 18 inch tire size, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 14041 will fit your 2011 Ford F-250.
In addition to part # 14041, you may also need a draw bar, hitch ball, pin and clip. For a draw bar, hitch ball, pin and clip, I would recommend the Ball Mount Kit, part # EBMK2416 which includes 2 balls, a ball mount, a hitch pin with clip and a carrying bag.
These days most new trucks have wiring included, but if you need wiring I would recommend Draw-Tite Wiring for the Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty, part # 18252 which includes a circuit tester for easier hookup.
