Recommended Swagman Bike Rack Rated For RV Use

Question:

Hello I just purchased a Swagman XTC-2 2-Bike Platform Rack for 1-1/4inch and 2inch Trailer Hitches. I plan to attach it to my Roadtrek 170 RV with a spare tire attached to the back..clearance is 13. Will I need to purchase an extender? The specs say Measures 15inch from the center of the hitch pin hole to the upright bar. I plan to carry one bike most of the time and two occasionally. Would I be able to carry one bike without a problem until I purchase an extender? Thanks.

I have a recommendation for you but unfortunately the Swagman XTC-2 Bike Rack # S64670 is not rated for use for an RV. Most swagman bike racks are not rated for RV use. Also, if you were to keep this bike rack, using a hitch extender will void the warranty on your Swagman XTC-2 Bike Rack. So I cannot recommend for you to use this bike rack.

However, the Swagman Dispatch 2 Platform Bike Carrier # S44FR is rated for RVs and can mount to your bumper as long as you have a 2" trailer hitch installed on your RV. You will not need a hitch extender for this bike rack to fit with your spare tire, as it has enough clearance for your spare tire to not interfere with the mounting of your bikes.

I attached a review video of the Swagman Dispatch bike rack you may want to check out.
