Bike Carrying Options on Keystone Passport Travel Trailer

Question:

I have a 2013 Keystone passport and we would like to put a hitch on the back to support bikes. Would you recommend code 13703. I would appreciate your assistance. Thank you!

Most of the photos I've seen of the Keystone Passport show a rear-mounted spare tire that would interfere with mounting a bike rack in a rear mounted hitch. If you don't have a spare tire, the Curt # 13703 would work for you. A rack mounted on the rear of a trailer will be subjected to more bouncing and jarring that it would were it mounted on a passenger vehicle, so you'd be want to be sure to use a bike rack that's rated for use on the rear of a trailer, as not all are. I'll link you to our selection of RV-rated bike racks.

Instead of using a hitch at the rear, Stromberg Carlson offers a Bike Bunk, part # CC-275 that would mount to your trailer tongue and provide a receiver that a bike rack can be attached to. The Bike Bunk has a 100 lb capacity, so you'd be able to carry up to two bikes using a bike rack like the Saris Bones, part # SA882.
