Can EOH Trailer Brake Actuator Be Used for Flat Towing Vehicle Behind Motorhome
Question:
I was wondering if the electric actuators for hydraulic brakes can be used in a Toad behind a Motorhome. Could they be tied into the existing brake system. Im pulling a Chev Tracker behind my Motorhome and would love to do that rather than the Brake Buddy system. Thanks for your reply!

An electric-over-hydraulic (EOH) trailer brake actuator like the HydraStar # HBA-10 is intended for use with trailer brakes that do not have the vacuum boost system typically found on autos. This makes such an item incompatible with a flat towing set-up.
The easiest option for a supplemental braking system for a Geo Tracker that has power-assist brakes is the portable and wireless Patriot system from Blue Ox, part # BLU37TR. This unit slows your toad in proportion to the deceleration of the motorhome and its installation and set-up are about as easy as it comes.
