Fifth Wheel Hitch for 2016 Silverado 2500 6-1/2 foot Bed
Question:
What is the actual offset of the ball on the AM3200 when I look at the dimensions, given in a answer, it looks like 4 1/2inch offset- but in your description it is 9inch ? I may be looking to purchase one for a 2016 2500 HD Chev. short box 6 1/2 Will I have any clearance problems to cab and FW ? Thanks

The Andersen Ultimate Connection # AM3200 is listed by the manufacturer of having a 9 inch offset. They find this by using the 4-1/2 inch, like you said, added to the 5 inches you get from the coupler adapter. The entire offset does equal 9 inches however that will decrease in a turn because of the pivot point being within that 9 inches and will not give you enough clearance with a 6-1/2 foot bed depending on your trailer.
To avoid your clearance issues I would look into a sliding fifth wheel. Depending on what size trailer you're pulling I recommend the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Square Tube Slider # RP30051. It has a towing weight of 16,000 lbs. and the hitch will slide 10 inches giving you plenty of offset for you clearance.
You'll be able to use the rail kit # RP30035 which you will also need if you don't already have rails in your truck.
I have included videos of both kits for you to take a look at. As well as a Help Article with general information and tips.
