Replacement 2 inch Adapter Recommendation for Thule 912 Bike Rack
Question:
will this work with my Thule 912 or do I need to use the much longer and more expensive 853-7292 i believe adapter. Why wouldnt his one work with the 912? Thanks.

For your Thule 912 you have to go with the 2 inch adapter that is specifically designed for it part # 853-7292 that you mentioned. We can't ever recommend any modifications that would void the warranty of your bike rack and not using the correct replacement part would do that.
